About the Series:
Stig Dalström, artist, botanist, author and noted orchid curator joins
filmmaker, Darryl Saffer, on a Wild Orchid hunt for the Ghost Orchid in the
Fakahatchee Strand Reserve in southwest Florida in the pilot episode of this
important nature series. With their popularity rising, untold numbers of orchids
are sold daily by sources ranging from reputable home garden centers to illegal
smugglers. The new series will promote increased awareness about the environmental
importance of protecting the world's wild orchids.
